Welcome to Hill! To access investment opportunities, you'll go through a quick, secure onboarding process. Here’s what to expect:
Step 1: Create Your Account
Sign up using your name, email, and by creating a strong password. Once you’re in, you’ll be asked a few questions to verify your identity and confirm your eligibility to use Hill's platform.
Step 2: Fill Out Your Profile
The onboarding process includes three steps to verify your eligibility and make sure we’re meeting regulatory requirements — here's why we have to do that.
1. Identity Verification
- We partner with Plaid to securely verify your identity.
- Follow the prompts to complete the check — you may be asked to upload a photo ID.
- Once you submit your information, you will either see: - Verified: Your identity is confirmed automatically, and you’ll move on to the next steps!
- Profile Under Review: We’re doing a final check, so hang tight! We'll reach out to you within 24 hours. We may need to ask you a few additional questions to confirm your identity.

2. Accreditation Check
To access Hill's investment opportunities, you must qualify as an accredited investor. To determine your status, we’ll ask a few questions. This might include:
- Your net worth (excluding your primary residence)
- Your income (individually or jointly)
- Any professional licenses you hold
3. Suitability Assessment
Next, you’ll answer a short set of questions that will help us assess if the opportunities on the platform meet required suitability standards for your profile:
- Your risk tolerance
- Your investment timeframe
- Your investment experience
- How important liquidity is to you
What happens after onboarding?
Once you complete the Identity Verification, Accreditation, and Suitability sections, you'll immediately see one of two outcomes:
- Access granted: You’ll be taken to your dashboard!
- Not eligible: If you don’t currently meet regulatory requirements, you’ll see a message explaining why you’re unable to invest at this time.
